Oregon Extreme Adventures on Mt. Hood

The snow is falling on Oregon’s biggest mountain, Mt. Hood, and it’s falling hard. What does this mean for you? Well that all depends on if you are ready to go on an Extreme Adventure or not!  One Oregon Extreme Adventure is never the same as the next, but each one is just as exciting. So tell us, what does your inner thrill seeker wishes to do on the big, bad, Mt. Hood this season?

Collins Lake Resort

Of course we all have different skill levels when it comes to the snow and the mountains. For a beginner just getting out there and going down the bunny slope a few times, or maybe trying out both skis and a snowboard just to see which one feels better, is extreme enough for you. Or if you have a group a little ones tubing or cosmic tubing at Ski Bowl can be the best trip of the winter. We are also prepared for the experienced thrill seekers that are looking to take it up a notch this winter. Maybe even jump out of a helicopter on one of the steepest slopes Mt. Hood has to offer! All of that is just the beginning. Have you ever thought about going cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or one the most adrenaline filled activities, snowmobiling?

Cosmic Tubing, Skibowl

Your Extreme Adventure on Mt. Hood doesn’t just have to be a day trip either. Pick a different activity each day and stay at some of Mt. Hood’s most exclusive 5 star lodging for the night or for the whole week. Enjoy breaks during the day to warm up with some hot coffee or coca and dry your clothes. Indulge in the evenings with great Oregon wines by a warm fire, or gazing at the beautiful stars you can’t see from the city limits while relaxing in the hot tub. The sky truly is the limit with Oregon Extreme Adventures!

Transportation to and from your destination is provided by JMI Limousine.

iFly Indoor Skydiving, Tigard Oregon

This is an Oregon Extreme Adventure for the whole family! Just about anyone from the age of 3 to 103 and in decent health can fly. iFly holds two modern wind tunnels, that compress air resulting in smooth columns of air that enable the average person to fly. This is a great opportunity for the seasoned skydiver that wants to sharpen their skills for less than half of the cost and by far less risk, and for a first timer that’s just not ready for the big plunge!

What can you expect when you get to iFly? You are asked to arrive an hour prior to your fly time to check in. You will need to sign a waiver, then you will be taken to the pre-flight area were you get to regular people flying in the tunnel. You will then be taken to the Flight Training room and instructed by a certified flight instructor on your upcoming flight. After that, it’s time to gear up and jump in (you actually just fall in, they say).  After your flight is complete you can check out the pictures and videos of your flight at the front and purchase them if you wish. For the more seasoned flyers you can also purchase training sessions and even enroll in the competitive sport of Bodyflight competitions.

Oregon Extreme Adventures & Gorge Flyboard

Yes, it is winter and no, you will probably not want to go and do this tomorrow, but for the summer lovers out there that are already thinking of the warm sunny days just a few short months away, it is never too early to start planning your next summer Oregon Extreme Adventure! Now if you are a summer lover, you’ve probably done some extreme activities like white water rafting down some of Oregon’s most fierce rivers or things like jet skiing, water skiing, water tubing and more (if you haven’t we can help you there too). As fun as all of those are, there is a new water sport stealing all of the glory and it is called Flyboarding!

The pictures speak for themselves, and we know you are already saying you want to go, but how awesome is it really? Will I, a beginner actually be able to do this? The answer, it’s really awesome and yes you will in just a few minutes be up Flyboarding above the water! This new adrenaline rush was invented by a French Jet Ski racer, Franky Zapata in 2011 and since moved to the USA and taken water sports to a whole new level. How does it work? Without getting to technical, there is a 55 foot long fire hose that is connected to the PWC or Personal Watercraft that can propel you up to 35 feet in the air or below the surface!

On your first time out with Gorge Flyboard, you probably won’t be doing all the tricks or going all the way up to 35 feet, but after a short session from a certified Flyboarding instructor you will most likely make it up out of the water in 5-10 minutes and have full basic control in 15-20 minutes. During the whole flight the pilot (you) will have full control over the navigation and your instructor will operate the PWC and will be in control of the throttle. This ensures optimal safety. Soon after your first flight you will be doing flips in midair and plunging in and out of the water just like a dolphin!
